Hi,

I am just writing some documentation for "LinuxLive" and cannot seem to
find our channel (haven't used it for years).

I have tried irc.perl.org #bblug but xchat cannot find the server.

Is it still in existence, if so, what's the server/channel details?

Thanks

It's still there on irc.perl.org port 6667.

OK TA

I still get:

Looking up newserver
* Unknown host. Maybe you misspelled it?
Cycling to next server in irc.perl.org...
* Disconnected ().
* Looking up newserver
* Unknown host. Maybe you misspelled it?

but other work OK.

Works for me... I can get on no trouble.....
It seems to be legacy-internet only, but working.

I can't see DNSSEC-validation-failure or only-some-servers-
working that would cause possible works-for-some-only.....

Who knows, maybe you have isp-level nanny-state misguided
internet filtering breaking it =).

Try different irc clients / irc client machines etc.?
Hope that helps,

Me too...

It redirects to astral.shadowplane.net, but on connect, my client tells me
it's actually MAGnet... Your IRC client may have memories for one or other
of those already that might work a little better...

I did and it was the same. As I said I haven't used the S/W for years
and it did not have the network already set.

Ooops .... Finger trouble, found I was not setting perl.irc.org
(newserver was the clue!).

Went on the site and nobody wanted to speak to me, maybe because I did
not have a fictitious name like "Hashbang"!!

Replace user and press any key to continue

I can see that but only for 4 minutes apparently.

Try leaving one of your sessions running irc client logged-in
all day, or similar =). Try asking a well worded question.
You will more likely get interesting answers or discussion
that way.

Is quite normal for people to be coming-and-going and only look
in the window occasionally... as well as to be logged into
many such irc channels and sessions etc...
