What's wrong with pasting text encrypted elsewhere into the compose
window of the webmail interface?

For quite a few years I have regularly used PGP or GnuPG to converse
on an encrypted discussion list called PGPNET [1], but unfortunately
seldom found other uses for OpenPGP.

I had a quick look, but I have never used webmail and encryption
together more than a handful of times, so never looked for a solution
beyond pasting the ciphertext into the webmail compose window.

(And a brief look at Hushmail; it really put me off that if they don't
have a key on their server with a uid containing the recipient's email
address, they create their own without even telling the recipient.)

Duly downloaded and checked the signature on your message. It showed
as "bad" in my default plain text view, but as "good" in the
alternative HTML view that was also attached - just in case you were
interested.
