That's not my point. I think mailvelope probably does a good job of what it
does. But it depends on the security of the browser as a platform in a way
which I don't believe is as safe as a mature OS.

I agree, Alex. Webmail and encryption do not go well together under any
circumstances. If you must use a browser, then encrypt a file and send
it as an attachment.

Could some kind group member get me an inatallable 32bit version of Suse
13.1, please.

The disk DVD180 from Linux format is only for 64bit, and that can't run
/install on my 32bit laptop. The LF disk might work on my desktop PC
(dualboot 12.1 and Win XPpro), but I haven't tried installing it on that
machine yet.

The laptop currently uses grub to dual boot v.12.1 and Win Home. I can't
download the file from Suse as its 4.7Gb and I only have 4.3 Gb free on the
Win partition!

I HAVE tried in the past to download a file using a desktop (XPpro) pc, but
struck file size problems, using bit torrent or just plain file download,
and also I have never had any success with the iso format anyway. Its been
a grand way to make loads of unworkable CDs in my experience!.

I looked on the Suse site to see that an update installation CAN be run from
within a suse installation, but the steps and the details are way beyond my
understanding, not to mention the warnings that THAT route is for experts
with dire results if it goes wrong!

On earlier versions of Suse, there was an update icon, that could do much of
this sort of thing, but on 12.1 its no longer there, and some of you have
warned in the past that "updating" is bad, and that only a new installation
is the safe way to go.

At 79 these technicalities are now long past me, but with the imminent
demise of support from microshaft for XP, I hope to struggle on with Suse
till its time to box me up and park me, and my pcs, for good. :(
