Just checked with dmesg | grep error and nothing.
Found some details on module I should have loaded. I think I should
have a "scanner" and its not there atm.
Tried to manually load it and can't.
Different help pages said I need sane installed, I only have xsane on
FC18 and assumed that was OK!?
I did read some old info that said I may have to remove sane BEFORE
installing iscan but I did not remove xsane!

Maybe I should have mentioned it too begin with, but we are currently
waiting for some information about some venue options etc, such as the
University of Bristol.

Well I got it to work!
Found this:
http://www.linux-hardware-guide.com/2013-06-16-epson-perfection-v500-photo-scanner
I had iscan, but not the data or plugin-gt-gt-x770.
I got the plugin and it works BUT it scans a preview but not scan
because there is not enough disk space!
As I now have the sane plugin I tried xsane and it seems to work
perfectly AND can save the document as does Simple Scan.
I still cannot see a "scanner" module and i don't seem to have
iscan-data so maybe I need the "data" for it to work properly.
I can at least use it and get rid of my ols HP Scanjet 2100C.
Any ideas as to why iscan thinks I have no space!?
It looks a better application than sane so it would be nice to try it.
Regards
