Realised I had an old Fedora 22 on a backup HD so tried that:

Tried an old A5 file on the fc22 - worked
Tried the file I had on fc23 - it worked but I noticed the printer
settings were still A4 Potrait!, however the size and orientation were
not "greyed out" and could be altered (I left them as set).

The page prints as if I had an A5 sheet, but I could have used an A4
and it would be printed in top left as portrait.

Other details:

Fedora 23 - Libre Office 5.0.5.2
Fedora 22 - Libre Office 4.4.7.2

So is this now likely to be Libre Office problem!?

I was going to add, check for the latest CUPS driver for your printer..

I had something similar for our HP laserjet ( all in one ) .. very odd...
When you say OO I hope your using LibreOffice 5.x latest also as OO is
pretty much dead imho.

Just checked and found Cups page says its still not 100% (unlikely to be
so as its getting ancient), as there were gutenprint driver which I
have used before, I installed Gutenprint 5.2.7-1 lsb3.2.

It ahs not changed the "greyed out" A4/Portrait, but it now prints OK.

A few months ago I re-installed fc23 and have not had to print A5 since
so, I assume Fedora used the default driver not gutenprint!?

Anyway that my theory that would fit circumstances.

Just in case some of the 500 list members had forgotten it is the 4th
Saturday in the month tomorrow!

We meet at the Knights Templer (KT) Temple Quays, near Temple Meads
Station, details on the website (which will updated with a new calender
shortly).

I hope to arrive between 1-30 and 2pm anyone else likely to be there?

All the Best
