I don't use Whatsapp, but that there is your mentioned program as an
alternative that's interesting.

Also I was thinking of putting this into the thread since it's a good
one:
http://www.pcworld.com/article/3052324/linux/skype-for-linux-is-lagging-behind-and-falling-apart-due-to-microsofts-neglect.html

This is a good one as well:
http://freedompenguin.com/articles/opinion/skypes-dead-all-hail-webrtc/
I guess this could be useful for someone as well:
http://www.ostechnix.com/tox-messenger-open-source-alternative-skype/

Maybe just maybe Microsoft will give Skype a proper enough upgrade later
on this year realising that it's becoming mostly to broken to get away
with by not supporting enough and still having enough users of it.

Best Regards

Sebastian

P.S

I saw on BBC News I think it was last week that Whatsapp finally has end
to end encryption.

P.S 2

Chris H likes Jitsi, but last time I tired to install and use that I
didn't seem to get that far, but that was also in 2014 I think.
