I have been experimenting with a Transcend DrivePro 220 dashcam. It has
a 130 degree field of view and has a built in wi-fi. This means
everything can be controlled/streamed by/to an Android device. It is
powered via a small mico? mini? USB lead.

I have written a bit of Perl to read the SD card and so far, am
impressed with it.

http://uk.transcend-info.com/ for more info.

PS they quote a minimum Linux kernel version of 2.6.38.

When you say used with Raspberry, locally or Remote?
Have you looked at the Raspberry camera, there are several cheap kits
that can be used to pan and tilt it. Although I think the step size
might be to large for smooth pans.

Remote(ish). The camera will be about 10m above the Pi. I am thinking about using a second Pi with a camera and RTSP server, though.

Hello David,

It might be worth having a look at the gphoto library , ISTR it has a
lot of support for many different cameras that may well extend to tilt
and pan. Might also be worth asking the lobsterpictures.tv people as
they do a lot of work with cameras and linux.

Cheers
Amias

I think I bought a wide angle lens and put it on it, but not sure (my
