Hi, I'm new to the list, have been listening in for a few days... Onto
business:

Would anyone care to recommend any particular text books (or online
resources that have been useful to you) that would suit a person (me) who
is looking into putting together some basic linux training sessions to
introduce newbies into the world of linux os?

Initially I am just looking at teaching individual users and the aim is not
more than getting them comfortable with installing and day-to-day use of
linux as an alternative to you know who.

Plain english is my first priority, and my focus will be on delivering
training rather than becoming a technical expert.

Any input and perhaps offer of sale of books that are sitting on your shelf
gathering dust would be appreciated.

Long live the Revolution!

Yes many things out there, bookazines, at least four Linux magazines for
the UK that all tend to have tutorials for new users and more advanced,
and official and unofficial online documentation for Linux
distributions, books, online help videos, etc.

In person or online?

Your in the right place, and you can probably get at least some of it
for free from people from this list.

Some of us from the LUG including myself actually ran an event in March,
that had the intention of introducing new users to Desktop Linux. So if
you are doing something in person when it comes to this, we might be
interested in helping you with that.

Seems unlikely:

<http://skinflint.co.uk/?fs=galaxy+tab+s&in=>

?309 + ?9.90 delivery for the T700N looks like the best you'll get for
something that isn't a grey import and has all legally-required taxes (i.e.
VAT) paid.

?260 sounds like the VAT hasn't been paid (309/1.2=?257.50).

Best Regards,
Alex

Hello Dylan,

I think you might find Linux Voice magazine useful , they have lots of
tutorials that are accessible to different skill levels yet still have
useful and extensible outcomes.

Cheers
Amias

Yes that's a good one and the first issue is already available for free
download, since they put them under a free to share Creative Commons
license after 9 months, unlike the other three I had in mind, Linux User
& Developer, Linux Magazine, and Linux Format.
