What I actually want is a full server installation I can spin up on any
machine in a few minutes in case the main hardware dies, which it
occasionally does. It also takes the weak link (the SSD) out of the
setup and replaces it with a backed-up RAID.

Thanks, I'll take a peek at that, although I'm also experimenting with
doing away with the server entirely and hosting all my services on my
surprisingly sophisticated Synology NAS boxes.
