Hi,

I have just noticed my fc23 waiting for 1min 30sec every time it shuts
down stating the "A stop job is running for user peter".

Not very scientific/professional but did the following:

Checked root user is OK - it was.

Checked what was installed recently and removed applications, and
checked for differences.

I found I had installed rdesktop, removed it and all is now OK.

Is there a better way to have found the culprit!?

Any ideas as to what could be causing the delay?

PS I don't think I needed to install rdesktop as I already have a
"Remote Desktop" GUI application under my "Utilities" software.

(seems very quite in ear!)

Regards

I guess rdesktop was one of the last programs to shut down properly from
the background on shut down, but maybe was being a bit buggy to hence
slowing things down. If I read that right, you removed rdesktop, and
then shut down went back to normal?

Probably a command to see what programs were running or something like
that, but what you did seems ok enough to me.

See above

You won't need any remote connect software installed really at all of
any kind, unless you are going to have someone remote connect your
computer, or your going to remote connect someone elses from yours. Not
everything that is installed by default in most or all Linux distro's is
needed by all the users of that distro.

The list hasn't been that active recently if that's what you meant yep.
