I have not had much time for this till the last few days!
I have got Chrome Browser with the Chromecast addon and I could see the
"Google Cast" icon in the top left of the menu bar.
I connected up Chromecast dongle to Samsung TV and it connected OK to
local wifi, but the latptop could not see it.
The problem was that ports were not open on my local network laptop.
I found this:
http://forsetti.wordpress.com/2013/08/25/using-google-chromecast-from-fedora-19/
I can now see my chrome browser on the TV, I also tried Youtube and
videos play OK. Not had time to test other sited but I assume
compatible sites will work as well.
I am not sure if it will work with 4OD but I suspect it won't!
(I would be interested if anyone has got that to work).
