The Bluetooth keyboards we had at the lug meeting are on sale again. now
down to ?6.99 in Argos, a whole pound cheaper than when I got ours.
Thought there might be people who are interested in getting one:

That itself is a fair old drop from the one I bought last year for my phone
from ebay ~?10!
The thing that amazes me, is that some of the keys are marked for the US
market, but just after its switched on, it changes to the UK key use! So,
does my phone (Samsung Galaxy ) do the switch, or the keyboard's software?

Thanks for the heads-up; duly put one on reserve for collection.
Before I do so, however, how well do they work with Android devices? You
(or Nathan) mentioned a US key layout, any missing keys (e.g. home, back,
task switch)?
Best Regards,
Alex

Thanks, Amias.
Suse IS now running dual with XP, with many thanks to Chris for his efforts
on Saturday - we ran out of time on the battery power, but it was successful
once back home on mains power.
Just have the problem of not downloading updates, as there's currently a
glitch in that, and I'm waiting for news on that front :)
All else seems to running fine.
I will have to take a look at the virtualbox business. I wonder if the
limited amount of ram in the laptop could cope?
By comparison with the neat notebooks many had with them, my "ageing" but
much-loved laptop looked quite a huge dinosaur!
With 3 new heads and 4 new handles - the old axe is as (almost) as good as
new! That applies to me as well as the pc....but no new heads for me, yet!
Thank you to everyone on Saturday who showed interest.

Alex,
My Bluetooth keyboard works fine with my Galaxy2 phone, provided I don't
type too fast.
It switches to UK keyboard automatically - somehow!
I haven't tried ALL the keys - "home, task switch"? Never even heard of
them!
And there are plenty of others I'd never use...

As a post-script to this call for help, there are people at the
aforementioned shop who provide support for GNU/Linux so my parents are
having their problems sorted.
However, I received no responses regarding commercial support from this
list, which is disappointing. I was labouring under the impression from
the times I came to meetings, that there were a number of professionals
offering support for GNU/Linux in the LUG. I specifically recall
Assursys but looking at their website, it appears they are no longer
trading. Alas. Is this decline a consequence of the state of the
economy, I wonder?
