Also, ironically I've never been to @Bristol - I've seen lectures advertised though ... How much of a possibility is it that they have tables and chairs? Then lectures starts me thinking of university - what are rates like for Bristol University?

Yes feel free to contact the Bristol University.

After the other emails I sent earlier to this mailing list, I had a good
phone call with someone from a hotel. They have a rather nice room that
I have been to before (for a meal back in July) that can also apparently
fit 100 people in it depending on how it's set up. Then the lounge
outside and next to it we can leave public or have private if we go for
this venue. Seems we can get the room for a reasonable price as well.
and yes I was given a likely amount for the potential March Saturday
dates I gave. I'll update the rest of the installfest committee members
with more information about all this off list, once I have been emailed
by who I was chatting to at the hotel tomorrow.

Also it seems all my potentail dates are availalbe at the moment for the
hotel :), but the sooner we can decide on a venue etc, the better I
think, so we can get something booked and organise the rest of our
event. I think we need more visits to potential venues first though.

I think the only thing is we may have to get most tech stuff set up in
it ourselves if we go for this one, also the Internet connection woudn't
be that good it seems since it's for all the guests. However when it
comes to everything else I think it would probably be a good venue :).

Also something I have noticed it seems a lot of other venues will close
at like 5pm on a Saturday, which I don't think is a good thing for our
installfest, since I like the idea of it starting at 1pm and finishing
between 7 and 9pm. Of course with a hotel venue we shouldn't have
problems when it comes to this? :)

I remember it as being a nice venue may even be worth having it until
say 11pm, even if that's just for clearing up at the end and drinks etc
:). Oh and the hotel is in a ideal location it seems :).

Yep indeed hence why ideally we need more than just five of us :). So
any volunteers? :)
