Hi,

We visited Bristol Wireless (BW) yesterday and they said they would be
willing for us to use their facilities, however their room would not be
suitable for more than 20-30 people. There are other rooms available on
site but we would need funding of ?200 to ?300. Other venues like
Trinity House are likely to be about the same cost for hiring.

I contacted "Quartet Community Foundation" and they thought it would be
a suitable project to fund but we would have to be a registered
organisation or apply through one, BW are such an organisation and have
obtained grants in the past.

We will be discussing all options at a meeting on 17th September at the KT.

Any venue needs to have easy access by public transport and ideally near
the centre of Bristol (or even Bath!).

If anyone has suggestions for other venues including likely costs (if
any), please let us know before our meeting?

LinuxIT have said we could use their facilities but they are at Longwell
Green without easy public access.

I will be unavailable from 7th to 15th so if you have any points on the
above subjects, please post here and not off list so that "The
Committee" can peruse them before the 17th.

Regards

--
Peter H
