Peter,

Just to transfer files from and to an Android device, I've found the
Wifi-ftp app on Android, combined with FireFTP add-on to Firefox on the
pc to be useful. It does away with all the cables.

+1 on minidlna I mainly use for viewing video, but it will show pictures,
and do audio as well.

Hi,

Thanks for the suggestions, I will look into them later this week (I
have previously, a long time ago, tried mediatomb and minidlna but not
too successfully as I did not really know what I was doing!).

I must admit I "chickened out" on this as time is short, so I just put
photos from shotwell onto a stick and will be using that directly into
my samsung blu ray tomorrow.

Hi

Why not come and join us on a maybe/possible hot day this Saturday, at the
Knight's Templar Pub in Temple Qyay near Temple Meads Train Station in
Bristol, for our usually scheduled LUG meeting? I will probably be there
about 3pm, or about 3:30pm, what about you?

For anyone who does not know we sit on the lower level at the back of the
pub when entering it on the lower level at the back of the pub, on the left
in the corner with the plugs, unless someone else is already there, and if
so near there instad. Someone from our group is likely to be there at
about 2pm by the earlist, and people tend to leave between 4:30pm and
5:30pm/6.

I hope it will be a good LUG meeting with a good turn out of people, like
the last four years from what I seem to remember. Also some of us will
probably be discussing a likly event, that trying to get sorted out
properly for Saturday October 22nd 2016 for Linux Presentation Day. At
least some more volunteers are wanted, to help with the event in general,
so please do kindly put yourself forward, by getting back to me soon, if
you haven't already, and are at least interested to some extent.

Best Regards

Sebastian
