entroware looks interesting, I'd far rather support a company providing
linux laptops, even if it does cost a bit more.

If you were after a workstation (rather than a laptop), then the Intel NUC <http://www.intel.co.uk/content/www/uk/en/nuc/overview.html> might suit (though perhaps not if you want chunky graphics).
AFAIK they come with no OS, so you can put what you like onto them.

(Full disclaimer, I work for Intel, though on SW, not sales or hardware :-))
